The materialization of this vision has became a reality with the first phase of the Foundation Hospital with 1.200 m² already operating. In these new installations more than 30.000 patients are taken care of in the multidisciplinary ambulatory. With the hemodyalisis services expansion the picture is also very exciting. The treatments increased from 11.999 in 1994 to more than 50.000 in 2006. The transplants started in a very modest way in 1978; however the goal is to cross 500 surgeries in 2006. Furthermore, the Pro-Kidney Foundation extends its treatments to regional units, renal diseases prevention, and diagnosis treatments centers. In Mafra, north of Santa Catarina, the Pro-Kidney Foundation has a partnership with São Vicente de Paulo Hospital in a 500 m² unit. In São Bento do Sul there is a 693 m² unit. In Jaraguá do Sul it has a unit at São José Hospital of 350 m² and in Balneário Camboriú the newest unit was established in a partnership with Santa Inês Hospital in a 445m² area. In Joinville the Pro-Kidney Foundation is established at the Regional Hospital in a 400 m² area and it has 120 patients in hemodyalisis and 40 patients in CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) in the dialyses unit.
Since 1995 the Pro-Kidney Foundation has grown enormously as you can see in table 1.

It was indeed an unbelievable growth. The greatest Pro-Kidney Foundation asset is its staff. It spends 50% of its income with salary, benefits and improvements of its employees. A program of improvement of self-esteem and peaceful integration of the team is one of the main programs of continuous education happening in the Pro-Kidney Foundation.
